Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan on Friday, in a rebuttal to Pakistan People's Party's (PPP) co-chairman Bilawal Bhutto has said that no one becomes leader of the country by reading speeches that are written by others. Imran Khan threw sharp words at the PPP leader while addressing a gathering in Umarkot. The PTI chief said Bilawal is unable to understand that the time for dynastic politics has gone. "You can no longer place your grandfather's and mother's picture at your back to call yourself a leader," said Imran.
He said that the people of Sindh should not become "worms but Iqbal's shaheens." Earlier on Thursday, Bilawal had mentioned Khan in an address and said that 'bat' would not win in Sindh. The PTI leader said that he would teach Bilawal how to move ahead step by step if he comes to him. People have told him about the preparations for the local body (LB) polls in Sindh and the elections amount to a fraud and nothing, he added.
PTI chairman urged the people to rise above their fears in Sindh. Promising the people of the area a bright future, the PTI chief asked the audience whether PPP leaders will prefer getting medical care at a hospital in Matli or send their children to schools in the town. Imran Khan also accused powerful political parties of promoting sectarianism and hatred against minorities. "They used these divisive strategies to achieve their political ends," said the PTI chief. The PTI chief questioned what the PPP had done to bring Sindh at par with other provinces despite having ruled for 30 years. "Now is the time for change. I want all of you and my candidates to destroy fear and vote for change."
Imran Khan arrived in Karachi yesterday ahead of the second phase of local government elections in Sindh and paid visits to Tando Allah Yar, Tando Jam and also attended a Diwali function at Umarkot district. The second phase of local government elections is scheduled for November 19 in 15 districts of Sindh. The districts awaiting polls include Matiari, Tando Allah Yar, Tando Mohammad Khan, Thatta, Sujawal, Badin, Hyderabad, Dadu, Jamshoro, Benazirabad, Naushero Feroz, Sanghar, Mirpurkhas, Umarkot and Tharparkar.
On the other hand, Khan has once again strongly reacted to flak on Reham Khan. In a message on social media website, Khan stated that media is speculating about Reham's alleged finance matter with PTI. He criticised media personalities for levelling baseless allegations against his ex-spouse. Khan said that Reham is a mother of three and people should be ashamed of alleging her of nasty things. He said that the society's moral collapse saddens him.
Earlier on October 30, PTI spokesperson said that the couple had split up due to differences and will file divorce papers. Khan has been taking stand against Reham's criticisers since the divorce. Khan had used harsh words against journalists who speculated about reasons behind the break-up. Earlier while addressing a press conference in Peshawar, Khan had allegedly used defamatory language against a journalist who asked the PTI leader about the split up after he had requested them to not ask questions about his personal life.
