Basis bids for hard red winter wheat firmed at flour mills in Kansas on Thursday, while farmers continued to focus on their fall harvest. Wheat bids firmed by 15 cents at a flour mill in Newton, Kansas, while bids rose by 10 cents at a mill in Wichita, Kansas. A merchant in Catoosa, Oklahoma, said wheat crops were in need of rain after Wednesday's 30 mph winds and extreme fire warning. K.C. HRW wheat futures for December delivery were up 3/4 cent at $4.65 per bushel.
