Russia exported 1.6 million tonnes of grain, including 1.0 million tonnes of wheat, between November 1 and 13, the Grain Quality Centre said on Monday. The Centre, part of the state food safety watchdog Rosselkhoznadzor, calculates its data based on phytosanitary certificates it issues to traders willing to export their grain.
Although some of the deals for which certificates are issued might have been cancelled or delayed, the centre provides the most precise export data, according to analysts and traders. Russia has exported 17.2 million tonnes of grain, including 12.3 million tonnes of wheat, since the start of the 2015/16 marketing year on July 1, the centre said. According to latest available official customs data, Russia exported 14.7 million tonnes of grain, including 11.2 million tonnes of wheat, between July 1 and November 11, down 9.5 percent year-on-year.
