The Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) reached to the students of NUST Business School at its campus in Islamabad and organised a seminar for NBS students on investment education and awareness. During the seminar, the Chairman SECP's vision for increasing awareness of financial markets, products with particular emphasis on fraud prevention was communicated to the attending students.
It was an interactive seminar where students were encouraged to acquire learned financial behaviour to help their professional careers. The focus of the seminar remained on promoting a culture of savings and investments and students were made familiar with the market operations and practices.
Another key feature of the program focused on educating the students about the investor education portal launched by SECP titled "Jamapunji," its rich contents and multiple features. The students and faculty were also informed about the launch of mock trading competition through Jamapunji's portal to enhance their understating of capital markets and its operations. The seminar was attended by a sizable group of students pursuing Master's level education in Finance. The seminar was followed by an interactive discussion and a Q&A session. The participants appreciated SECP's efforts in fulfilling its social responsibility in the area of investors' awareness.-PR
