The seventh Annual General Meeting of the Swiss Business Council (SBC) was held to elect its office-bearers for 2015-16. Asif Ikram was elected unopposed as President, Arshad Saeed Husain as Vice President and K M Iqbal as Company Secretary & Treasurer. The following members were also unanimously elected as Directors: Mrs Yasmin Peer Mohammad, Mujtaba Rahim, Farukh Mazhar, Ahmed Naveed Chaudhary, Jamil Hassan Hamdani and Farhat Ali.
The SBC is a partner of the Switzerland Global Enterprise (S-GE) in Pakistan. S-GE works around the globe to support Swiss entrepreneurs and promote Switzerland as a business location. Their role as a centre of excellence for internationalisation is to foster exports, imports and investments, to help clients develop new potential for their international businesses and to strengthen Switzerland as an economic hub. The SBC also has an alliance with the Swiss-Asian Chamber of Commerce (SACC) in Switzerland.
SACC is a private organisation, providing a forum for all firms, institutions, government bodies and individuals interested in economic and business relations between Switzerland and Asia. The SBC is patronised by the Embassy of Switzerland in Pakistan and the Consulate General of Switzerland in Karachi. In Pakistan, SBC invites Swiss companies/ organisations/institutions and authorised agents/representatives of Swiss companies and Pakistani companies having substantial trade with Switzerland to become its members to further their trade and explore opportunities in both countries.-PR
