Gmail is now offering to reply to mail in your inbox on your behalf, providing a menu of suggested responses to emails for the user to choose from. Like autocorrect, the options available are sometimes wildly different from what the user was intending to say, so it's best to read before pressing "send." Google says it has based the help on the usual way individuals write responses.
The idea is to cut the time it takes to respond to messages on smartphones. The service is run by an artificial intelligence system known as Smart Reply. So far, it is only available in English and only for the mail app Inbox.
