The US Department of Agriculture's weekly crop progress report should show that US winter wheat condition ratings improved in the week ended Sunday, according to a Reuters poll of seven analysts on Monday. The average estimate for the amount of US winter wheat rated in good to excellent condition was 52 percent, up from 51 percent reported by the USDA a week earlier. Estimates ranged from 50 to 53 percent good-to-excellent.
For winter wheat planting progress, the average estimate among six analysts was 95.5 percent, up from 92 percent reported by the USDA as of November 8. For corn harvest progress, the average estimate among seven analysts was 96.6 percent. The USDA said the corn harvest was 93 percent complete a week earlier. The soybean harvest is virtually complete, with progress reaching 95 percent by November 8, and the government did not plan to release additional updates.
