Chaudhary Muhammad Nawaz, President Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FCCI)/Chairman Monitoring Board Social Security Hospitals Faisalabad has demanded induction of new members in this board to make it more effective, efficient and representative. He was chairing a board meeting which was also attended by Dr M Yusuf Medical Superintendent Social Security Hospital and labour leaders.
He said the industrial units of the Faisalabad are very responsible and are continuously paying their due contribution to ensure free medical facilities to the secured industrial workers. He said that this amount is the right of our workers and it must be spent on the workers belonging to Faisalabad only. He also welcomed a donation of Rs 3.5 million by Rafhan Maize for the Social Security Hospital and said that the donors must be acknowledged and monitored board should immediately write down a letter of appreciation to the said firm.
He also expressed satisfaction over the establishment of 400-bed Social Security Medical College in Faisalabad and said that its construction work should be completed on fast track basis in addition to setting up departments of Neuro and Cardiac Surgery in it.
Medical Superintendent Dr Yusuf said that building of the Medical College has almost been completed and its possession would be handed over to the Social Security Hospital within next couple of months. Responding to a question, he told that Social Security Hospital has 100 doctors, 100 nurses in addition to other staff of 500 employees. He said the doctor-patient ratio has been worked at 1/30 per day.
He further said that Social Security Hospital has all major specialties while the standard of nursing care is much better than other public sector hospitals. He said the Social Security Hospital has also started dispenser class for the children of secured industrial workers. "We are strictly following the merit for admission in this class and hence, it was giving 100 percent results for the last many years", he claimed.
