Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (Tevta) and University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF) signed a memorandum of understanding on Monday to train the youth in agriculture and livestock. Tevta Chairperson Irfan Qaiser Sheikh and UAF Vice Chancellor Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan signed the agreement.
Tevta chairperson on the occasion said, "The purpose is to provide trained manpower to poultry farms and dairies equipped with the right set of technical skills and professional knowledge." He while addressing the participants said that Tevta with the collaboration of the UAF would provide skilled workers in various trades. "The courses will be offered at UAF. Four hundred students will be trained annually in these courses. Preferably Matriculation pass candidates (age of 18 to 35) will be eligible for admission. No fees will be charged and monthly Rs 1,000 stipend will be given to them during their training period. UAF will take examination and certificates will be jointly issued."
