MQM Jamshoro Zone has demanded the Election Commission of Pakistan to declare the second phase of local bodies' elections null and void held in Jamshoro District held on November 19. In charge Jamshoro Zone, Ayub Khan said this while addressing a press conference at Hyderabad Press Club on Monday. He said that the ruling party had mobilised all machinery to win the local bodies' elections while opponents' candidates had been harassed to withdraw from the election process.
"DROs, ROs and others staff had also supported the PPP candidates and as a result, the majority of PPP candidates won the elections," he alleged. Worst rigging was witnessed in the recent-held local bodies' elections, he said and demanded re-polling in Jamshoro district.
