Submission of nomination papers for by-poll on one NA, nine PK seats starts

PESHAWAR: The Returning Officers Monday issued public notices inviting submission of nomination papers for by-poll on one National Assembly seat and nine Provincial Assembly’s constituencies.

The intending candidates can submit their papers till August 30, while the list of candidates would be displayed on August 31. Similarly, the scrutiny of candidates would be held on September 4, while the appeals against the decisions of Returning Officers would be filed till September 8.

Appellate Tribunal would decide against the appeals till September 13 and revised list of candidates would be displayed on September 14.

The candidates could withdraw their nomination papers till September 15, while election symbols would be allotted on September 16 and election to be held on October 14.

It is to mention here that by-poll in one NA, nine PK constituencies would be held as these became vacant due to death of contesting candidates, resignation under Article 223 and postponement under Articles 218(3) of the Constitution.

The constituencies included NA-35 Bannu, PK-3 Swat-II, PK-7 Swat-IV, PK-44, Swabi-II, PK-53 Mardan-VI, PK-61 Nowshera-I, PK-64 Nowshera-IV, PK78 Peshawar-XIII, PK-97 DIKhan-III and PK-99 DIKhan-V.
