I am pleased to know that Pakistan Textile Exporters Association (PTEA) is organising the Export Excellence Awards 2015. This event is instrumental in acknowledging the achievements of our textile exporters and provides a platform for interaction, feedback, networking and debate on challenges and issues confronting the textile sector.
Textile sector, with 56% share, continues to be the mainstay of Pakistan's exports and, therefore, remains the focus of Government's policy priorities for export enhancement. The Government is fully aware of the challenges faced by the export sector in a highly competitive global market place and is making best efforts to provide an enabling policy environment, negotiate market access agreements and maintain effective institutional support mechanism for promotion of exports.
PTEA has been playing a laudable role in policy advocacy on behalf of the textile exporters and I commend the efforts of Chairman PTEA and his team on holding the Award ceremony for encouraging the high performers in the textile sector. I also congratulate the Award winners and appreciate their contribution towards Pakistan's exports.
