The hollow claims of police of strengthening security in federal Capital have gone down the drain as various city police stations registered 10 cases of robbery, six cases of auto thefts and two cases of kidnapping during last seven days. According to data gathered by Business Recorder, the robbers, bandits and automobile lifters had a field day within the limits of Ramna police station, Shehzad Town and Lohi Bheer police stations during last week.
The police registered two cases of road accidents in which two people lost their lives and nine cases of fake cheques were also registered during the same period. Minister for Interior Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan also expressed his dissatisfaction over the performance of police during various official meetings but so far no improvement has been observed in this regard.
During last week, Ramna police station registered two cases of auto thefts and one case each of kidnapping and robbery. Siraj Ahmad registered a complaint with Ramna police station that unknown people stole his mobile phone worth Rs 35000 from a mosque at Sector G-11 Markaz. Haseena Bibi of Sector G-11/1 informed Ramna police station that her husband Ahmad Shah along with his mother and sister kidnapped her three daughters and son and left for the United States.
Auto thieves stole a bike (AFR-307) of Awais Khan from the jurisdiction of Ramna police station and another bike (RIO-4514) of Zohaib Nisar from Sector G-11/2. Sabzi Mandi police station registered one case each of auto theft and snatching during the same period. Motor vehicle thieves lifted a bike of Ihsan Ullah from Sector I-10/4.
Moreover, Haider Farooq lodged a complaint with Sabzi Mandi police station that two unknown bike riders pretending to be police constables snatched two mobile phones and Rs 72000 from him in Sector H-11 and later escaped from the scene. During the same period, Shehzad Town police registered one case each of road accident and kidnapping. Shah Mohammad lodged a complaint with Shehzad Town police station that a tractor trolley crushed to death his brother but the driver has not been identified. Muhammad Suleman lodged a complaint with Shehzad Town police station that unknown abductors kidnapped his brother Hamza.
