This is apropos 'Geo-economics and national security' carried by Business Recorder yesterday. I agree with M. Ziauddin, the writer, that Afghanistan should have its share from the booty out of Tapi pipelines. However, giving it to the government of Afghanistan may not be efficacious. Because there would be nobody pleading for a redress when a problem is created by the mighty on that side.
Advisable would be incorporation of separate companies (in Afghanistan and Pakistan) to have the franchise or authority in this behalf. To deal with their respective governments, Pakistan and Afghanistan, such companies may not find too difficult. Same company to take care of the business in different countries, Afghanistan and Pakistan etc, may not be that efficacious. When called for, it would be relatively easier to have 'other parties' in, if it is a corporate structure. To guard against onslaught on their butter, corporations have many, many ways to deal with 'irritants'.
