The Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) President Mian Muhammad Adress has invited the Chinese investors to exploit the untapped opportunities in Pakistan. He was speaking to a 27-member Chinese delegation led by Gao Yang, Chief Quality Engineer of Shaanxi Province Bureau of Quality and Technical Supervision that visited the FPCCI Regional Office to explore business collaborations with Pakistani counterparts.
The delegation was representing steel, real estate, energy, petrochemicals, food processing, cold storage chain, logistics, investment development and international trade.
On the occasion, as many as six agreements were also signed between the FPCCI and the Chinese delegation to encourage collaborations and lend further strength to business-to-business ties. Under the agreement both the organisations will work closely for the economic growth through facilitation to each other's members. Both organisations would also take joint measures to synergize efforts to accomplish share goals and to boost efficiency.
Pakistan offers attractive incentives to foreign investors, thus the Chinese industrialists should set up manufacturing plants to give a boost to the exports, Mian Adress said and highlighted investment potential in various sectors of the Pakistan's economy. He said the economic indicators show positive trends, therefore, Chinese investors must avail the opportunity and increase investment in Pakistan, especially in energy, infrastructure development, steel, real estate, exploration of natural resources including marble & granite and agriculture sectors.
Speaking on the occasion, Gao Yang said that China and Pakistan has great potential to enhance cooperation in various fields for mutual benefit. He stressed that private sectors of both countries should develop synergies to take full advantage of China-Pak Economic Corridor project. FPCCI Regional Chairman Khawaja Zarar Kaleem said the Chinese business community is focusing Pakistan in general and Punjab in particular for strengthening bilateral trade and economic relations. "Both public and private organisations are striving hard to fully exploit the trade and investment potential of Punjab in collaboration with foreign investors, he added.
