The Executive Board Meeting (EBM) of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) was held under the Chairmanship of Qamar Zaman Chaudry, Chairman NAB at NAB Headquarters. The following decisions were made during the Executive Board Meeting (EBM). The EBM decided to authorise four investigations. First investigation was authorised against M/s Reshma Power Generation (Pvt) Limited and others namely Raja Pervez Ashraf, Ex-Minister Water & Power, Shahid Rafi, Ex-Secretary Water & Power and others.
In this case, the accused persons were alleged for corruption, corrupt practices and misuse of authority in award of 220 MW Rental Power project (RPP) contract to M/s Reshma Power Generation Limited (RPGL) near Manga-Raiwind Road, LESCO area, thus causing loss of Rs 892.609 million to the national exchequer. The second investigation was authorised against M/s Young Gen Power Ltd Raja Pervez Ashraf, former Minister for Water & Power, Shahid Rafi, Ex-Secretary M/o Water & Power, Fazal Ahmad Khan, MD PEPCO, Rafiq Butt, Ex-CEO, NPGCL, Ejaz Babar, Ex-Finance Director, NPGCL and others. In this case, the accused persons were alleged for corruption, corrupt practices and misuse of authority in award of 150 MW Rental Power Project (RPP) Contract to M/s Young Gen Power Ltd at Satiyana Road, Faisalabad, causing loss of Rs 435.7 million to the national exchequer.
The third investigation was authorised against officers/officials namely Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan (AWKUM) namely Dr Ihsan Ali, Vice Chancellor (VC) AWKUM, Professor Sher Ali Khan, Ex-Registrar, Dr Muhammad Amin, Ex-Director Planning & Development, Pir Abdul Jabbar, Ex-Controller Examination, AWKUM and others. In this case, the accused persons were alleged for misuse of authority for allegedly appointing 700 employees (BS 1-16) and BS-17 and above both in teaching and non-teaching cadres without completion of codal formalities. The fourth investigation was authorised against Officers/Officials of Board of Revenue (BOR), Land Utilisation Department (LUD), Sindh, CDGK and others. In this case, the accused persons were alleged for fake allotment of an amenity plot (6 acres) in Deh Dih Na Class 24 by tempering of documents and illegal change of land from industrial to industrial / residential without approval from Chief Minister Sindh, the Competent Authority, causing loss of Rs 200 million to the national exchequer.
The Executive Board Meeting decided to authorise three inquiries. The first inquiry was authorised against Rana Mashood Ahmed Khan, Minister of Education, Sports & Youth Affairs, Punjab and others. In this case, the accused persons were alleged for corruption, corrupt practices and misuse of authority in holding of sports festival. Thee second inquiry was authorised against the officers of the CDA and others. In this case, the CDA sold commercial plots without open auction and completion of codal formalities.-PR
