Australian Neil Robertson has become the first player to make a maximum 147 break in the final of the UK Championship on Sunday. The 33-year-old's effort came in frame six and put him 4-2 up on China's Liang Wenbo in the best-of 19 final to earn a £44,000 ($66,000) bonus.
Robertson punched the air in delight and received a standing ovation from the crown at the York Barbican Centre after he potted the final black. Wenbo applauded and then hugged his opponent, who now has managed three maximums in his career.
Thailand's Thepchaiya Un-Nooh almost got a maximum break earlier in the tournament, but missed the final black. It was the 115th 147 break in snooker history, as world number one Robertson bids to win the UK title for a second time.
