Spot basis bids for hard red winter wheat were flat at elevators across the southern US Plains on Friday. Grain dealers said that country movement was slow after farmers booked light sales on Thursday to take advantage of a sharp rally in the futures market. Most of the deals earlier in the week came from farmers that had end-of-the year cash flow needs. They only booked enough to pay off those immediate bills, a dealer in Kansas said.
