National Assembly Standing committee on National Health Services, Regulations and Co-ordination on Thursday passed the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) Ordinance 1962 with certain amendments in it. The committee headed by Khalid Hussain Magel directed the three members committee already constituted by PMDC to formulate the criteria for the upcoming President and PMDC and same may be put before the committee for its consideration at the earliest.
Secretary Ministry of National Health Services and Regulations, Dawood Nasim apprised the committee that PMDC Ordinance has been framed with the vision to eradicate the loopholes and deficiencies occurring in regulating the PMDC, due to which a lot of problems had been occurred during the previous tenures.
The meeting was attended by Dr Zulfiqar Ali Bhati, Dr Muhammad Afzal Khan Dhandla, Chaudhray M Shahbaz Babar, Dr Ramesh Kumar Vankwani, Shakila Luqman, Colonel Dr Amirullah Marwat (Retd) and Abdul Qahar Khan Wadan, MNAs, Minister of State for National Services, Regulations and Co-ordination, senior officers from Ministry of National Health services, Regulation and Co-ordination and PMDC also.
