President of Korangi Association of Trade and Industry (KATI) Zahid Saeed has criticised new wave of price hike after announcement of new taxes by government which is considered a "mini-budget" widely in the country. He said that business community has already made clear to government that common people and businessmen cannot bear more taxes, but just to meet budget deficit, government is putting burden of more taxes on people, he said.
Zahid also indicated that initially government claimed that only luxurious items will be considered for new taxes and regulatory duty but many of common usage products like milk yogurt and soap etc are also included in the announced list. He urged the government to consider all the factors before taking any such measures. President KATI also said that package for traders delayed without any reason due to which Pakistani exporters losing their place in international markets. Zahid urged the government to issue the tax return claims immediately and also revise tax policy.
