The Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP), taking forward its financial literacy campaign on investment education and awareness organised a seminar for the students of International Islamic University, Islamabad. Vice President Professor Dr Muhammad Bashir Khan, in his opening remarks urged students to blend their academic knowledge with the real market practices. He also stressed on the need for research work in the area of Capital markets and Non-Banking Financial Sector.
He appreciated SECP for starting these sessions and spreading market based knowledge through real life experiences. During the awareness seminar, the students were briefed about the role of SECP as the apex regulator of Capital markets and Non-Banking Finance sector.
Students were encouraged to acquire learned financial behaviour from the very start of their professional careers. A comprehensive portion of the seminar was about the Capital Markets, wherein the students were made familiar with the market operations and practices.The seminar was attended by a sizable group of students pursuing Master's level education in Economics and Finance. The seminar was followed by an interactive discussions and a Q&A session and concluded by the closing remarks from the Acting Director General Dr Hafiz Muhammad Yasin who showed keen interest for holding more sessions in near future.-PR
