Within a year since its launch, Pakistan's first and fastest growing mass market-health insurance 'Easypaisa Sehat Sahara' has gained more than 100,000 subscribers and is opening up new avenues for easy and affordable access to quality healthcare amongst the masses. Launched in January 2015, in partnership with MicroEnsure a leading local insurance company, 'Easypaisa Sehat Sahara' provides financial assistance for inpatient hospitalisation and disability, offering an innovative method of health financing to those in need.
Any Pakistani can subscribe for Easypaisa Health Insurance by paying only PKR 950 per year. In return, they receive inpatient treatment of up to PKR 1,000 per day of hospitalisation or PKR 2,000 for each night spent in an intensive care unit. In addition, generous maximum payout limits and a weekly benefit of PKR 5,000 in case of temporary disability due to injuries are also offered. There is a generous 30-day limit for any single admission and no limit on maximum hospitalisations.
Unlike conventional health insurance, 'Easypaisa Sehat Sahara' doesn't require customer to visit a specified panel hospital and allows them to freely visit the nearest healthcare facility, which may include free government or trust as well as private hospitals. Furthermore, the customer is not required to undergo lengthy documentation; instead all they need is their CNIC, making this insurance accessible to an unparalleled number of people.
Till date, thousands of customers who have suffered from unfortunate accidents or illnesses have had their claims honoured through the Easypaisa health insurance hospital cash model. Commenting on this achievement Nadeem Hussain, Founder, President and CEO of Tameer Bank said: "Sehat Sahara has made healthcare available wherever possible and lessened a considerable financial burden on the underprivileged segment of our society. It is part of our mission 'to improve lives in every home' and our endeavour to play a meaningful role in the society. We believe that the health of people is a top priority and we aim to enable people to lead a healthy life." Expressing his delight, Muhammad Yahya Khan, Chief Financial Services Officer and Head of Easypaisa said, "The phenomenal growth of subscribers is a testament to the faith subscribers have placed in Easypaisa Sehat Sahara health insurance to help bear the cost of medical care. Such a simple process is completely unprecedented in the Pakistani market. In under a year, Easypaisa Sehat Sahara health insurance has gained immense momentum, recognition and popularity amongst the underprivileged segment of Pakistan." -PR
