Khyber Medical University (KMU) Peshawar in collaboration with Directorate of Sports organised a three-day annual sports week, which concluded on Friday. Prize distribution ceremony was held at KMU. Director General of National Accountability Bureau Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Shahzad Saleem was the chief guest whereas VC KMU Professor Dr Mohammad Hafizullah graced the occasion as guest of honour.
Registrar KMU Dr Fazal Mahmud, Director Academics Dr Jamil Ahmad, Dr Muhammad Shahzad, Director Sports, heads of all constituent institutes, faculty and a large number of students attended the ceremony.
A number of sports events were held during the five days Sports Gala in which a large number of different team members participated with zeal and enthusiasm. The sports included Tug of War, Badminton, Cricket, Table Tennis, Volley Ball, Football and Athletics etc. DG NAB Saleem Shahzad said, "Physical activism is necessary to avoid from diseases and it is not source of healthy competition but play a key role in establishing a healthy society."
Professor Dr Mohammad Hafizullah, Vice Chancellor KMU said that we are providing all possible facilities of sports to our students who are competing in different games. Recreation activities like sports produce energetic individuals and teach team work as well, he added.
