KP Inspector General of Police (IGP), Nasir Khan Durrani on Monday paid a surprise visit to police posts near tribal areas. He was accompanied by the CCPO Peshawar and SSP Operations Peshawar. He visited the Police Post Frontier Road, Police Picket Frontier Road and Police Post Zangali.
The IGP also inspected the working of police nakabandis particularly the IT gadgets provided to the police personnel deployed on various nakabandis for effective checking of vehicular movement and to prevent the ingress of illegal immigrants and other suspects. He inspected the live working of Vehicle Verification System and Identity Verification System. The IGP also addressed a public gathering in the area of Police Post Zangali and distributed cash reward among the personal of Police Post Zangali.
Afterwards, the IGP visited the Gulbahar police station situated in the hub of Peshawar city. He witnessed the proceedings of Dispute Resolution Council (DRC) and had a brief meeting with the members of DRC. The IGP reviewed the overall performance of DRC for the last two years. While visiting Gulbahar police station, the IGP checked the police record and took feedback from the complainants regarding police behaviour through mobile phone.
It is pertinent to mention that KP IGP Nasir Khan Durrani has made it mandatory to record the CNIC and mobile number of the complainant in every FIR and that of the accused in the FIR index form. This information is, later on, used from time to time by the supervisory officers as well as the officers of the Central Police Office to take feedback from the complainants.
