Governor of Sindh, Dr Ishrat-ul-Ebaad Khan, performed the inauguration of the SAP training course. The inauguration ceremony of Systems, Applications and Products in Data Processing (SAP) was held here on Monday at the Governor House. SAP's Director Education MENA, Jaco Van Zyl, vice-chancellors, industrialists and businessmen were also present on the occasion.
The Governor in his remarks said that the SAP training programme would contribute towards bringing about a revolutionary change in the IT market. This, he added, would also help spur the economic development in the country. Dr Ishrat-ul-Ebaad, Major Muhammad Jaffer (Retd), and his team for entering into contract with Director SAP; which made the training opportunities easier for youngsters. He said that being the Chancellor of the public sector universities in the province, his commitment has always been for the quality of education.
Dr Ishrat said that during his tenure as Governor, the number of universities under his chancellorship have increased from 29 to 40 in last 13 years. The number of those acquiring higher education has gone up to 98,000 from 42,000 whereas the number of teachers has doubled to5,000. The Governor said that the number of departments have grown to 450 from 210. The development budget of the universities has increased from Rs two billions to Rs 34 billion.
Dr Ishrat said that it augurs well that the development of IT would also provide opportunities to the students to make rapid headway. He stated that SAP is a prominent company in the realm of information technology. The Governor hoped that our industrialists and businessmen would provide due opportunities to the youngsters who obtain SAP training certificates.
