Hyderabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (HCCI) has appealed State Minister for Water and Power Abid Sher Ali to take the notice of inflated bills being sent to consumers by Hyderabad Electric Supply Corporation (Hesco).Chairman Sub-Committee HCCI, Abdul Sattar Khan said this in a statement issued here on Tuesday.
"Consumers especially business community of Hyderabad are suffering from mental torture as the Hesco higher authority is not taking the issue seriously but issuing directives its staff to disconnect the connections in case of default, which has made the situation much worse," he said.
Hesco has imposed a ban on new connections including commercial ones, resultantly a large number of files are in pending for approval, he said. Khan said that according to the law of Nepra, a feeder should be installed at the distance of one kilometre. He appealed State Minister and other higher authority to help us resolve the issues.
