K-Electric issued a statement saying that Karachi and its adjoining areas will be exempted from load-shedding from the evening of December 23, till the morning of December 26, 2015. This decision has been taken keeping in mind the auspiciousness and sentiments surrounding the occasions of Eid Milad-un-Nabi (SAW) and Quaid-e-Azam Day.
"More than 60 percent of Karachi is already free of any sort of load-shedding, a percentage which continues to rise as we speed up our up-gradation work. But, as a responsible entity, we always go an extra mile to facilitate Karachiites during special occasions and this time we will again try our best to ensure uninterrupted power supply to the city," KE spokesperson said this while talking about the power entity's resolve to ensure Karachiites celebrate these occasions with utmost commitment and respect. In case of any breakdowns and power related complaints in the city, K-Electric, which already operates one of the largest customer care teams in the private sector, has formed special teams to attain and fix these issues to ensure stable power supply during this time.
The power utility also expects the city government to complete the maintenance and installation of street lights on the routes of Eid Milad-un-Nabi (SAW) processions and venues of gatherings. In case of a power outage, customers are advised to register their complaints on 118, 99000, SMS on 8119 or even log into KE's social platform via Facebook or Twitter.-PR
