Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) is being celebrated throughout the country on Thursday (today) with religious fervour. The day will dawn with 31-gun salute in Islamabad and 21-gun salute in Karachi, Lahore, Quetta and Peshawar and national flag will be hoisted on important buildings. Special prayers and Quran Khawani will be held after Fajr prayers for the progress and prosperity of the country and well-being of the Muslim Ummah.
Religious processions would be taken out from various parts of the country to celebrate the day in a befitting manner. Various religious, educational, cultural and social organisations will arrange special functions and Mahafil-e-Milad. Qirat and Naat competitions will be held to mark the day. The buildings and houses across the country have been illuminated with glittering lights while streets have also been decorated with buntings to celebrate 12 Rabi-ul-Awwal.
Punjab Emergency Service (Rescue 1122) has finalised the arrangements for providing effective emergency cover on auspicious occasion of Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH), as over 8,000 rescuers will discharge their duties in three shifts all over the Punjab. DG Rescue Punjab Brigadier Dr Arshad Zia (Retd) has directed all the District Emergency Officers (DEOs) to ensure comprehensive emergency medical cover to the gatherings, processions and rallies on this occasion.
As per contingency plans, emergency cover will be provided to main processions with mobile rescue posts along with fully equipped emergency vehicles including rescue ambulances, fire tenders and specialised vehicles. Furthermore, co-ordinated liaison has also been developed with key focal persons of processions/ gatherings. All the DEOs have finalised mapping of all events/routs processions in this regard.
According to the emergency plan, rescue personal will also remain in close co-ordination with other related agencies and services in control room established in the districts and Provincial Monitoring Cell (PMC) and trained doctors will supervise the arrangements on the day. The PMC of Rescue 1122 will also remain operational round-the-clock for monitoring of all districts and to provide directions, assistance and logistic support in case of any untoward incident.
PML-Q President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, senior central leader Chaudhry Parvez Elahi and Moonis Elahi while extending felicitations to entire Muslim world on the occasion of Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) have said that we can be successful in the world and the Day of Judgement by following the path carved out for us by the Holy Prophet (PBUH). They said basic reason for all our problems and crisis is ignorance of Islamic teachings and today Muslims are facing enormous problems in the world.
