This is apropos a letter by Farouk Dossa regarding commercial counsellors carried by this newspaper sometime ago. Whatever the writer has said is nothing but a highly objective assessment of the situation. It is also correct that legalisation of export documents is a common practice now world-wide. Such legalisation has to involve the embassy of the country where the goods are exported.
One must not lose sight of the fact that commercial counsellors are necessary to look after various matters, especially those related to export businesses. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is therefore requested to kindly depute commercial counsellors to help protect Pakistanis' business interests.
