All Pakistan Paper Merchants Association (APPMA) has urged the Competition Commission of Pakistan (CCP) to pay its attention towards the paper mafia who is playing havoc with the traders. The APPMA President Khawaja Nadeem Saeed Wayeen also asked the Punjab Chief Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif to take notice of the repeated increases in paper prices by the paper millers as they are not only exploiting traders attached with paper trade but are also keeping education away from the common man.
He demanded of the paper millers to announce cut in paper prices as the too high paper prices are not only hampering the business activities hard. He said that only because of high prices of paper, education is getting out of common man reach. He said that paper millers should avoid exploitation of traders and common man as it would spoil the business activities and urged the government to take stringent action against paper mafia.
He alleged that paper millers have made a cartel that should be taken into task. He said that a couple of weeks ago, paper mills have made a massive raise in the paper prices. He said that unjustified massive increase in the paper prices. He said that paper mafia is trying to fail APPMA efforts to keep education in reach of the poor people. He said that unjustified profiteering by the paper millers has destroyed the businesses of traders who are already suffering due to acute energy shortage and deteriorating law and order situation. The situation is worsening due to lack of check and balance system by the government, he said.
