Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) was celebrated with religious fervour and great enthusiasm in Sialkot, Pasrur Sambrial and Daska tehsils of Sialkot district on Thursday. The daylong programmes started with special prayers for unity, prosperity and solidarity of the country as well as for early liberation of Indian held Kashmir in all mosques of the district.
On this occasion special programmes were held under the auspices of several religious, educational and cultural organisations for paying rich tributes to Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) the greatest educator to the mankind as well as to highlight various aspects of the life of Hazrat Muhammad (SAW) in different areas of the district.
A big procession was also taken out from the city, which after passing through its traditional routes terminated at Imam Sahib in the evening. Similarly many small and big Eid-e-Mild processions were also brought out in many rural areas of the district. The religious leaders and scholars while addressing the processions stressed upon the people that they should mold their lives according to golden principles of Islam as well as teaching of Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) for overcoming our multifarious problems.
The religious leaders and scholars also appealed to the people that they should forge complete unity among the ranks for the elimination of menace of terrorism and foil the anti-state elements. They said that Islam is religion of peace, tolerance and brotherhood and had strongly condemned the barbarism and killing of innocent people. It is high time that we should mold our lives in accordance with the teaching of Holy Prophet (PBUH) not only for overcoming our multifarious problems but also demonstrating true Muslims which would be helpful in improving the image of Muslims in the glob they were of view.
All bazaars, commercial centres, shopping centres, government and private buildings were illuminated on this occasion. Food and sweets were also distributed among the poor, widows and destitute while some social welfare organisations and individuals also distributed food and gifts among the patients in different local hospitals.
