People of Pakistan will remain indebted and grateful to Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah forever for creating a separate homeland for the Muslims of the sub-continent through his inspired leadership and great statesmanship. This was stated by world-renowned Pakistani artist, social crusader and peace activist Jimmy Engineer while addressing a function, organized by the Pakistani community members in connection with birthday celebrations of the Father of the Nation, in Houston, USA, according to a message received here. Jimmy Engineer is in USA on a goodwill tour of various countries.
He said that the Quaid-i-Azam had led the Muslims quite inspiringly to translate the idea of a separate homeland into reality presented by great thinker and poet Allama Muhammad Iqbal. He said that millions of Muslim men, women and children had sacrificed their lives while migrating to their new homeland so that they could live in a free, independent and sovereign State of Pakistan as per their desires and liking. Jimmy stressed the dire need for revival of the Pakistan Movement spirit to squarely, determinedly and unitedly face the internal and external challenges faced by Pakistan and its people including extremism, militancy and terrorism. He said the people of Pakistan are peace-loving, moderate, progressive and forward looking and this is amply proved by their determined fight against terrorism in all manifestations and making positive and encouraging headway in this regard.
He said that while visiting different countries around the globe he tried to project positive, moderate, progressive and peace loving image of Pakistan and its people through his art and while inter-acting local people in these countries. He emphatically stated that he is doing all this because he regards himself as unofficial goodwill ambassador of Pakistan which has given him immense reputation and fame.
Recalling his achievements as an artist and peace activist, Jimmy Engineer said that he regards his very famous Pakistan Movement paintings series and transforming in colour in a big mural poetic collection of great poet and philosopher Allama Mohammed Iqbal "Javid Namah" on the wall of the residence of late Dr Javid Iqbal as major artistic achievements. He said as a social crusader, he had introduced the walk culture and also awareness, fund and food programs for physically-handicapped, mentally retarded, deaf and dumb Special Children over the years in Pakistan and is genuinely proud of these achievements with the immense blessings of Almighty Allah, the message concluded.
