The country's telecom import dropped by 10.10 percent in July-November 2015-16 to $571.031 million, official figures say. Telecom import, in term of value, slid by $64.136 million in July-November 2015-16 from $635.167 million in July-November 2014-15, Pakistan Bureau of Statistics shows. In November 2015, the country's telecom import fell by 0.52 percent or $0.641 million to $122.015 million from $122.656 million in November 2014.
Pakistan's import of mobile phones, however, shot up by nine percent or $24.869 million to $307.744 million in July-November 2015-16 from $282.875 million in July-November 2014-15. In November, the country's mobile phones import went up by 12.03 percent or $7.011 million to $65.292 million from $58.281 million in November 2014.
