Addressing the participants, Dr Ahmad extended Merry Christmas and New Year wishes to the Christians. Expressing his feelings, he said that he was very delighted to participate in the event. He said that Islam seeks to establish such a society where all citizens of the state enjoy equal rights and religion does not become the basis for any discrimination. He said Islamic law holds both Muslims and non-Muslims equal and no superiority or privilege is given to the Muslims on any ground.
He said that on this day, the world got a messiah who brought the message of love, peace, tolerance, and compassion for humanity. "It is time to re-dedicate ourselves to following the noble ideals of Jesus Christ and work individually as well as collectively for the betterment and welfare of humanity, and to contribute our share in making the world a safer place to live" he emphasized.
