Time is running out for tens of millions of Windows users world-wide after Microsoft announced at the start of November that its free storage quota on its cloud service OneDrive is being reduced from 15 to 5 gigabytes.
OneDrive had become the repository of choice for backing up Windows computers in case their hard drives fail, because it is tightly integrated with the operating system and can operate in the background.
There is a way to keep the larger allocation and the +15 GB camera roll bonus, which is also being discontinued. Go to https://preview.onedrive.com/bonus and click on the "Keep your free storage" button. However, this option is only available until January 31, 2016.
