Claiming that `VIP culture' has come to an end in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf's (PTI) chairman Imran Khan on Sunday vowed that roads would not be closed even for Prime Minister's protocol in KPK.
"Despite the fact that I'm facing life threats, we can't put life of people in danger by leaving them waiting for hours at traffic signals due to our security protocols," he said while speaking to media persons in the city.
The PTI chief, who later left for airport without any VIP protocol, claimed his party government has eliminated 'VIP culture' in KPK, saying that roads would not be closed even during prime minister's visit to the province. Relying to a question about Saturday's protest by some `disgruntled' party workers, he said the PTI activists vent their anger in the wake of nominations of office-bearers for upcoming intra-party polls.
Admitting mistakes have been made in his party's previous elections, he said "we have learnt a lesson from such mistakes".
Earlier, Imran Khan met angry supports of his party on Sunday and assured them of not repeating the mistakes in the intra-party elections. Talking about party elections, he said that the workers would elect their leaders and no mistakes would be repeated in this regard.
