MMS thrashed Diamond Paints by eight goals to one and half in the 'Master Paints Polo Cup 2015' opening match played here at the Lahore Polo Club (LPC) on Tuesday. Hamza Mawaz Khan was star of the day as he struck fantastic four goals - three field goals and one through 30-yard penalty hit. He was ably assisted by Bilal Hayat Noon who scored a brace while Chaudhry Hayat Mehmood and Irfan Sheikh contributed one goal each in their team's triumph.
Mir Huzaifa scored lone goal for Diamond Paints, who despite having half goal handicap advantage, couldn't play well and lost the opener with a big margin. Omer Asjad Malhi and Hissam Ali Hyder performed the duties of field umpires. In the second match of the day, a thrilling clash was witnessed between two teams of the tournament as Newage registered a hard-fought 5-4 1/2 victory against Hataff.
