Amir inclusion in squad: Intra-court appeal against plea's dismissal disposed of
A division bench of the Lahore High Court on Monday dismissed an intra court appeal against dismissal of a petition by a single bench seeking direction to stop Pakistan Cricket Board from including convicted fast bowler Mohammad Amir in national squad for New Zealand series.
The bench comprising Justice Ayesha A Malik and Justice Faisal Zaman observed that the appeal was non maintainable. Pakistan Justice Party Chief Munsaf Awan stated that former captain Salman Butt, bowlers Mohammad Asif and Mohammad Amir were banned for spot fixing during the Pakistan team's tour of England in 2010. The lawyer pleaded that respondent player tarnished the image of the country and spoiled its dignity. He said a convicted player should not be included in the national team.
