District Police Officer (DPO), Faisal Shahzad has said that National Action Plan (NAP) is strictly implemented in district Mardan. "Only police force could not control terrorism and militancy as there is dire need that all the federal and provincial institutions should play their due role in this regard", the police official said while talking to a group of media persons during a meeting on Thursday.
Faisal Shahzad said that local police had issued advisory notices to all the federal and provincial institutions and also arranged meetings with their heads to strengthen their security. He added that first information report (FIR) also registered against heads of several federal and provincial institutions. However, he said they couldn't arrest them due to their high position.
DPO added that they will stop activities of those federal and provincial institutions, if they were not taken proper security arrangements at installations. He added that police could not be able to provide security to all the federal and provincial institutions due to low strength of the force in the district. He added that they would also made request to heads of those federal and provincial institutions, located at congested areas of the city to shift their offices to secure areas. He added that National Action Plan (NAP) is strictly implemented in the district.
Answering to a question, the Senior Police official revealed that same militant groups is involved in Nadra suicide attack and in hand grenade attack on police mobile in Par Hoti area. He added that due to the joint operation of security forces and local police in the district the miscreants were dispersed and shifted to other places however they entered the district and after committing militancy incident they escaped from the district.
Shahzad added that after initial investigation no local facilitators were involved in both the attacks. He added that they had so far arrested several suspected people soon after the incident, while investigation is under way from the arrested people. He maintained that joint operation of security forces and local police continued in all over the district among which several suspected people were arrested.
Meanwhile the National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) office remained closed for last 10 days after the suicide attack on the office in which more than 27 people were martyred and 74 got injured. The Nadra office administration was yet not started its operational activities. People are facing a lot of problems due to the closure of Nadra office. However sources added that Nadra office administration has decided to shift the Nadra office to other suitable and secure place.
