Capital Development Authority - Development Working Party (CDA-DWP) has approved Rs 1.114 billion for the development projects in the federal capital of Pakistan. During the 38th meeting of CDA-DWP, presided over by Chairman CDA Maroof Afzal, many mega projects of immense importance were approved.
The members of CDA Board, senior officers of Planning and Development Division, Capital Administration and Development Division and senior officers of the Authority including Director General Works, Director Planning and Evaluation attended the meeting. PC-1 worth Rs 571.857 million was approved for the "Dualisation of Atta Turk (West) from Khayaban-e-Suharwardy to Khayaban-e-Margalla". Under the project, four kilometers long way would be dualised with the construction of two lane new carriage way along with the construction of footpaths and provision of drainage system along service road. This will improve road sector efficiency on the main transport corridors of Red Zone. CDA-DWP also approved the construction of second Carriageway from roundabout of Service Road (west) Sector G-10 of Khyaban-e-Iqbal worth Rs 430 million, which is the most recent extension on the western side of Islamabad. The Carriageway will facilitate the traffic emerging from the sector G-10, G-11, F-10, F-11 and other adjoining sectors.
The construction of approach road from gate no.3 of Prime Minister Office to helipad of Aiwan-e-Sadr has also been approved whereby, all administrative buildings and interlink roads in the area have already been completed except the said road. The meeting also approved construction of the approach road from the Supreme Court Bar Association's building to Constitution Avenue costing Rs 39.214 million.
Another project worth Rs 10.834 million of one tubewell in sector G-7/2 and another tubewell worth Rs 11.658 million in the blue area G-8 and F-8 has been approved. Chairman CDA Maroof Afzal emphasised on the timely completion of those projects. He also stressed upon the need of focusing on problems faced by the residents of the city. The chairman directed all formations to complete codal formalities at the earliest to start practical development work on those projects. He ensured the allocation of funds for those mega projects to avoid any interruption during the development work to keep the cost of the projects in control.
