Supreme Court on Friday reserved verdict on review appeals filed against apex court decision to impose ban on hunting of Houbara bustard in the country. A five-member bench of the top court led by the Chief Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali, comprising Justices' Mian Saqib Nisar, Iqbal Hameedur Rehman, Umar Ata Bandial and Qazi Faez Isa reserved verdict on Friday on review appeals filed against apex court decision to impose ban on hunting of Houbara bustard in the country.
During the course of proceedings under their clients' advise, Syed Ali Zafar and Makhdoom Ali Khan requested the court for permission to withdraw the petitions. Accepting their plea, the bench dismissed the pleas whereas Kamran Murtaza, counsel for Malik Salim supported the apex court verdict for ban on hunting of Houbara bustard. The top Law Officer Salman Aslam Butt reiterated that there should not be complete ban on hunting of Houbara bustard saying globally hunting of the bird was not completely banned.
