Accountability Court (AC) on Saturday remanded a key culprit of Defence Housing Authority's (DHA) corruption scandal involving funds up to Rs 16 crore, Hamad Arshad in National Accountability Bureau's (NAB) custody for another two days. National Accountability Bureau (NAB) maintained in the court that Arshad is accused of Rs 16 crore corruption. The bureau representative added that Arshad devoid of martyrs' families and locals of their right.
The court was requested to extend culprit's physical remand for further investigation. Alleged corrupt person's counsel, Azam Nazeer argued against NAB's request. According to NAB's spokesperson, Arshad was supposed to launch development project on 25,000 canals land in spirit of an agreement with DHA. The official said the accused did not respect the agreement and acquired only 13,000 canals. Funds for the rest of pieces of the land were transferred to Arshad's personal account, he added.
