The ratio of various kind of crimes, including robbery, car lifting and dishonoured cheque cases is going up with every passing day despite tall claims of the police regarding utilizing all available resources for protection of life and property of citizens.
Crime data of the last week gathered by Business Recorder from various sources showed that armed robbers struck at seven places in various parts of the city and deprived citizens of valuables worth million of rupees. However, a slight decrease was witnessed in the incident of auto thefts as the carjackers lifted only five vehicles including bikes from different localities of the federal capital during the last week.
During the period under review, the robbers and auto thieves had a field day in limits of Industrial Area police station, Aabpara, Kohsar and Shams Colony police stations. During last week auto thieves stole a car (IDF-308) of Muhammad Rafique from sector H-8 , stole a bike (GR-007) of Muhammad Rauf Abbasi from Sunday Bazar and lifted another FX car of plate number LHM-681 of Qasim Manzoor from Sunday bazaar. Aabpara police station registered one case each of auto theft and dishonoured cheque. Motor vehicle thieves lifted a Mehran car (B-5865) of Syed Sajjad Hussain, a resident of G-6/1-4 of the federal capital.
Muhammad Riaz of Sector H-13 lodged a report with Shams Colony police station that unknown robbers stole gold ornaments, a mobile phone and a laptop from his house valuing Rs 450,000. During another incident Muhammad Hammad of Bahria Town lodged a complaint with Lohi Bheer police station that unknown robbers stole gold ornaments, cash and other valuables worth Rs 400,000 from his house. Muhamamd Riaz of Model Town lodged a complaint with Sihala police station that unknown robbers stole gold ornaments, cash, three mobile phones and other valuables worth Rs 8250,000. Muneeb Azhar informed Golra police station that unknown robbers stole gold ornaments from his house during last week. During the last week, Shalimar police station registered two cases of dishonoured cheques, Ramna three, Margalla four while Karachi Company registered one case of dishonoured cheque.
