The prices of essential kitchen items remained stable during past week as compared to preceding week, revealed a survey conducted by Business Recorder. According to the survey, no change was registered in the prices of eggs that are being sold at Rs 110 per dozen. Live chicken price in wholesales market witnessed no change and is available at Rs 6,700 per 40 kilogram, while prices of entire range of nonperishable kitchen items including pulses, spices, wheat-flour and ghee/cooking oil also remained unchanged.
Mash pulse is available at Rs 240 per kg, Black Masoor at Rs 140 per kg, Red Masoor at Rs 150 per kg, Moong at 170 per kg, gram pulse at Rs 140 per kg and Red Lobia is available at Rs 140 per kg. Live chicken is available at Rs 230 per kg, while the chicken meat is being sold at 350 per kg, boneless beef is being sold at Rs 450 per kg and mutton is available at Rs 700 per kg.
Onion in the wholesales market is available at Rs 3,500 per 85 kg bag, which in retail market is being sold at Rs 45-50 per kg, tomatoes price witnessed a reduction of Rs 100 per 5 kg in wholesales market from Rs 280 per 5 kg to Rs 180 per 5 kg, which in retail market is being sold at Rs 40-45 per kg against Rs 60 per kg during the preceding week.
Peas price in wholesales market witnessed a reduction of Rs 80 per 5 kg from Rs 200 per 5 kg to Rs 120 per 5 kg, which in retail market are being sold at Rs 30-35 per kg against Rs 50 per kg and spinach price at wholesales market remained stable at Rs 70 per 5 kg which in retail market is being sold at Rs 15-20 per kg.
Green chilli witnessed no change in prices at wholesales market and is available at Rs 250 per 5 kg, which in retail market are being sold at Rs 60 per kg; carrot is available at Rs 80 per 5 kg in wholesales market whereas at retail markets it is being sold at Rs 20 per kg.
Brinjal, cabbage and cauliflower prices also remained unchanged whereas at retail markets, they are being sold at Rs 30 per kg. While capsicum price decreased by Rs 100 in wholesale market from Rs 300 per 5 kg to Rs 200 per 5 kg which at retail market is being sold at Rs 60 per kg against Rs 70-80 per kg during the preceding week. Kareela is available at Rs 250 per 5 kg in wholesales market which in retail market is being sold at Rs 60 per kg and okra price enhanced by Rs 30 per kg from Rs 100 per kg to Rs 130 per kg. Tori is available at Rs 65 per kg, Arvi is available in the markets with an increase of Rs 10 per kg from Rs 70 per kg to Rs 80 per kg and Kaddu with an increase of Rs 10 per kg from Rs 50 per kg to Rs 60 per kg.
Potatoes price witnessed a reduction of Rs 35 per 5 kg at wholesale markets from Rs 125 per 5 kg to Rs 90 per 5 kg, which at retail market are being sold at Rs 20 per kg against Rs 30 per kg during the preceding week. Ginger is available at Rs 160 per kg whereas garlic is available at Rs 220 per kg.
The survey observed that apple price remained stable at the wholesales market as a box of good quality apple is available at Rs 1,000 at wholesales market whereas at retail markets it is being sold at Rs 100 per kg. While a box of normal quality apples is available at Rs 500 at wholesales market which in retail market it is being sold at Rs 50 per kg. Good quality guava is being sold in the range of Rs 50-60 per kg, good quality orange is available at Rs 50 per dozen, good quality pomegranates are being sold at Rs 140 per kg, while normal quality at Rs 100 per kg and bananas are available in the range of Rs 30-60 per dozen with respect to quality.
