Even though most software manuals may say otherwise, most older programmes or games designed for Windows 7 or 8 can also be run on Windows 10, thanks to a trick that is not widely enough known. This is possible through the Compatibility Mode of the new Microsoft operating system, which saves users having to buy new software versions.
To activate it, look for the .exe file of the desired software, right-click it and select Properties. Then tick the box labelled "Run this program in compatibility for" and select the version of Windows on which the application was designed to run. Then confirm by clicking OK and the programme should run.
