Punjab Labour & Human Resource Department has successfully completed online labour inspection of 1214 units of all the Industrial Estates of the province as it was directed by Chief Minister Punjab, Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif after the mishap of the collapse of a polythene manufacturing factory at Punjab Sundar Industrial Estate.
Giving details, Director General Labour Welfare Muhammad Saleem Hussain informed that in district Lahore as many as total number of 596 industrial units were inspected online while 330 units in Gujranwala, 115 at Faisalabad, 109 at Multan, 39 at Rawalpindi, 13 in Sahiwal, 7 at Sargodha and 5 industrial units at Khanewal were successfully inspected with the help latest and android technology and all the collected data was transferred to Headquarter at Lahore.
He informed that 8 teams in Lahore district, 4 in Gujranwala, two teams each in Faisalabad, Multan while one team for other districts were constituted who completed all this procedure of Geo tagging and online inspection approximately within a month.
Director HQ Labour Daood Abdullah said that this online labour inspection has been launched first time in Pakistan by Punjab province, taking the initiative to collect authenticated and transparent data regarding industrial units of all the provincial industrial estates in view to get information about any cases of child labour, ensuring minimum wages, occupational safety, registration and implementation on other related labour laws.
