The Karachi Port handled 225,327 tonnes of cargo comprising 192,453 tonnes of import cargo and 32,874 tonnes of export cargo including 8,071 loaded and empty containers during the last 48 hours ending at 0700 hours on Monday. The total import cargo of 192,453 tonnes comprised of 113,374 tonnes of containerised cargo; 42,166 tonnes of general cargo; 8,750 tonnes of coal and 28,163 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 32,874 tonnes comprised of 31,036 tonnes of containerised cargo; 300 tonnes of general cargo and 1,538 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. As many as 8,071 containers comprising of 4,303 containers import and 3,768 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Monday.
The breakup of imported containers shows 1,386 of 20's and 1,364 of 40's loaded while 47 of 20's and 71 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 592 of 20's and 203 of 40's loaded containers while 1,008 of 20's and 881 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours. There were nine ships namely Sima Giselle, Xin Nan Tong, Hyundai Colombo, Fowairet, MT Quetta, Grazia, Sanmari, Amber Beverly and Jin Yue carrying containers, oil tankers and general cargo respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
There were ten vessels viz. APL Coral, Hanjin White, X-Press Euphrates, Kota Kaya, Front Dee, Crystal Nord, MP Panamax-6, APJ Shirin, Sanmari and Jin Han carrying containers, oil Tankers, coal and general cargo respectively currently at the berths. There were six ships namely APL Coral, Hanjin White, X-Press Euphrates, Kota Kaya, Front Dee and Mu Dan song carrying containers, oil tanker and general cargo respectively sailed out to sea on Monday while another ship namely Crystal Nord carrying oil tanker is expected to sail on Tuesday.
There were two vessels viz. ACX Pearl and Shalamar carrying containers and oil tanker respectively due to arrive on Monday while two vessels viz. Oriental Freesia and Sea Wave carrying oil tanker and cement respectively are due to arrive on Tuesday.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 94,960 tonnes comprising 59,008 tonnes of import cargo and 35,952 tonnes of export cargo inclusive 2,359 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Monday.
The total import cargo of 59,008 tonnes includes 36,421 tonnes of furnace oil; 9,000 tonnes of soyabean seed and 13,587 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo of 35,952 tonnes includes 35,952 tonnes of containerised cargo.
There was one ship namely CV Maersk Tomoko carrying containers sailed out to sea on Monday morning, while three ships namely CV ACX Pearl, CV Northern Endeavour and MT Gas Sellan carrying containers and LPG mix are expected to sail on the same day afternoon.
A total number of seven vessels viz. CV Northern Endeavour, CV Maersk Tomoko, Haje Zenab, Moleson, Callm Sea, MT Gas Sellan and MT Med Star currently occupied berths to load/offload containers, cement rice, soyabean seed, LPG mix and furnace oil respectively during the last 24 hours. As many as two ships carrying gasoil and LPG mix were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim on Monday. There were three vessels carrying cement, rice and LPG mix took berths at Multi Purpose Terminal and Engro Vopak Terminal respectively on Monday. There were no ships due to arrive on Monday.
