Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has assured the farmers community of Balochistan province to look into their grievances and to resolve all problems faced by them. He made this assurance while talking to a delegation of agriculturists from Balochistan who called on him at PM House on Thursday. Minister for National Food Security & Research (NFSR) Sikandar Hayat Bosan was also present during the meeting.
Members of the delegation apprised the Premier about problems and issues related to the agriculture sector in the province. The delegation comprised Senator Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri, Senator Muhammad Usman Khan Kakar, Senator Sardar Azam Musakhel, Senator Mir Kabir M Shahi, Senator Sardar Fateh Muhammad Hassani, Senator Saee Ul Hassan Mandokhel, Senator Dawood Achakzai, Senator DR Jahanzeb Jamaldindi, Senator Hafiz Hamdullah and Zamindaars of the province.
Nawaz Sharif said the Balochistan is close to his heart and he is taking keen interest to resolve all the issues of the province. He directed Federal Minister for National Food Security and Research, Sikandar Hayat Bosan to meet Chief Minister Balochistan Nawab Sanaullah Khan Zehri at the earliest for addressing the issues and concerns of the agriculturists of Balochistan. 'Issues that need to be addressed at the Provincial level should be resolved in consultation with the provincial government while those pertaining to the federal government should be brought to his notice for their solution at the earliest', added the prime minister.
The prime minister assured the delegation that the federal government is well aware of the fact that agriculture is the lifeline of the country and majority of the people are dependent on this sector for a living. The agriculture sector has been rightly accorded top most priority by the present government as Pakistan's economy is agriculture-based, he maintained.
