The Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid-e-Azam in the Punjab has experienced a skirmish in a statement by party leader Pervaiz Elahi over national security after a Punjab government spokesman assailed him by saying the politician "cannot hoodwink people through jugglery of figures".
In response to the politician's statement on Friday, spokesman Syed Zaeem Hussain Qadri also advised him to be careful while talking about national security institutions.
He said, "Pervaiz Elahi and his colleagues have made development projects a source of corruption. The projects are only in files during the era of the Chaudhry Brothers, and now they have no right to criticise these projects. People have rejected the Chaudhry Brothers. Therefore, instead of levelling allegations, they should pay attention to the public service."
His attack continued with saying the politics of Pervaiz Elahi "has become history" and he "wants to stay on alive in politics by making claims. The destruction of the Ring Road project is a clear proof of maladministration and nepotism of the Chaudhry Brothers," he added.
Then he turned his attention to the Pakistan Tehreek Insaf party head Imran Khan, saying, "Making baseless allegations has become a habit of Imran Khan whose politics has been just limited to criticism against opponents. People have rejected the political style of sit-in party leadership."
