TEVTA Chairperson said that the enhancement would play vital role in promoting Apprenticeship Training Scheme across the province of Punjab.
"Now, all the Regional Directorates of Apprenticeship Training will try their best to achieve the target of 65,000 apprentices by December, 2016," he said.
He said that as per vision of Chief Minister Punjab, TEVTA was endeavouring to promote apprenticeship training scheme across the province.
Irfan Qaiser Sheikh said that apprenticeship scheme was being made more flexible to the maximum benefit of youth.
"A summary for age relaxation for the apprentices up to the age of 28 years has been recently approved by the Chief Minister, Punjab. It will help combat the menace of unemployment," he said.
He further said efforts were being made to bring the maximum number of industries under the purview of Apprenticeship Ordinance, 1962. Recently, 84 new industries have been notified for implementation of the scheme. 50 industries are under process of notification.
